COLUMBIA, S.C. — The 2025 Columbia International Festival is set to return to the South Carolina State Fairgrounds on April 5 and 6, celebrating its landmark 30th anniversary with an expanded lineup of global cuisine, cultural performances, fashion showcases, and educational exhibits.
Founded in 1996, the Columbia International Festival (CIF) has grown into one of the Midlands’ most anticipated cultural events, drawing thousands of visitors each year to experience the rich diversity of South Carolina’s international communities. This year’s milestone event will highlight over 100 nations, making it the largest cultural festival of its kind in the Palmetto State.
A Celebration of Global Culture in the Heart of Columbia
Columbia, the capital city of South Carolina, boasts a rich and storied history, from its founding in 1786 to its pivotal role during the Civil War and its evolution into a modern hub for education, culture, and commerce. The city is home to the University of South Carolina, historic landmarks such as the South Carolina State House and Hampton-Preston Mansion, and is known for its deep-rooted Southern hospitality.
Over the past three decades, the Columbia International Festival has reflected the city’s growth into a melting pot of cultures, fueled by immigration, international business, and educational exchange.
“As we celebrate our 30th year, the Columbia International Festival will be bigger and better than ever before,” said Dr. Raj Aluri, director of CIF. “We’re proud to continue our tradition of showcasing Columbia’s incredible cultural diversity, bringing together food, dance, music, and heritage from every corner of the world under one roof.”
