Tragedy struck Chesterfield County on Sunday night as a deadly shooting claimed the life of 27-year-old Daquan Blanton. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. on Mallory Street in Cheraw, according to reports from the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities arrived at the scene to find Blanton suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, Blanton was tragically pronounced dead. The investigation quickly led to the identification of 22-year-old Anthony Waymyers as the suspect. Waymyers was arrested shortly after the incident and has been charged with murder.
Currently, Waymyers is being held in the Chesterfield County jail, though no court date has been scheduled at this time.
