Missing Georgia Man Believed to Be in South Carolina, Authorities Say
Aiken, S.C. — A missing Georgia man is believed to be in South Carolina, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Dean Campbell, 33, was reported missing on Dec. 17. Authorities say he was last seen after being discharged from The Potter’s House, a rehabilitation facility on U.S. Highway 129 in Jefferson, Ga., on Dec. 2.

An anonymous tip suggests Campbell may be staying in and out of hotels in South Carolina. Additionally, his mother believes he could be in Aiken County.
Campbell is described as 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds. No clothing descriptions or vehicle information have been provided.
The sheriff’s office says Campbell has a history of drug-related issues and is wanted on an active probation warrant out of Barrow County, Ga.
Authorities have released an Aug. 15 photo of Campbell to assist in the search. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact Investigator Kevin Thomas with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office at 706-387-6055.
This case remains under investigation.
