Legal Troubles Deepen for Defendant in JP Miller Case and Opposing Attorney
By James Seidel | CC News Network
Newly surfaced emails and inconsistent statements raise serious questions about the credibility of Melissa Mancari, the former Myrtle Beach paralegal at the center of John Paul Miller’s ongoing legal battle.
As an investigative journalist at the CC News Network, I sift through the facts to present the story from the middle—unbiased, unfiltered, and free from agenda. Any conclusions drawn are entirely your own.
Mancari, who has publicly accused Miller of witness tampering and harassment, appears to have actively and voluntarily engaged with him through numerous emails, contradicting her claims of “unwanted communication.” Even more alarming, her police report to the Myrtle Beach Police Department—alleging Miller sent her an unwanted message asking her to provide false testimony—now appears to be false under South Carolina law § 16-17-722, which criminalizes knowingly filing false reports with law enforcement. That is unless Mancari can produce real evidence to prove said claims. We reached out to Mancari for the evidence of those claims and have not heard back.

@crimeandcask Everyone loves to say the name John Paul Miller, but do they really know the facts? The rumors are everywhere, but I’m here to break it all down and give you the real story. False Witness Tampering Allegations? The Emails Tell a Different Story
At the core of Mancari’s allegations is the claim that Miller pressured her to provide false testimony. However, email exchanges paint an entirely different picture.
Miller never asked Mancari to lie—his message explicitly stated:
“If you seriously show up and testify to all the horrible things you’ve seen… I seriously will bless you somehow. And I’ll make sure you sound balanced and truthful.”
Nowhere in the emails does Miller request false testimony. Instead, he encourages honesty, making Mancari’s police report factually inaccurate.

Yet, she proceeded to file a formal complaint against Miller, claiming she received unwanted messages pressuring her to commit perjury—a claim contradicted by her own digital correspondence.
However, multiple confirmed sources have stated that Judge Arakas stated to all that were in his court last week for the special hearing, “Mr. Miller has done nothing wrong,” said The Honorable Christopher John Arakas – Magistrate Judge.
Under South Carolina law, knowingly filing a false police report is a criminal offense punishable by fines and possible jail time. This raises serious questions: Did Mancari knowingly attempt to weaponize law enforcement against Miller?

Defamation and Malicious Prosecution Claims Strengthen
With evidence emerging that Mancari willingly communicated with Miller, the legal ground for defamation and malicious prosecution lawsuits against her grows stronger. But why do this? For what reason?
Miller has suffered significant reputational harm from Mancari’s public accusations, including her statements on YouTube, TikTok, and social media claiming he manipulated her and engaged in criminal behavior. Which is probably why he filed a $6,000,000 dollar lawsuit against her.
Legal experts argue that Miller could file a defamation suit under South Carolina’s defamation per se laws, given that false accusations of a crime are inherently defamatory. If proven, damages would be presumed, meaning Mancari could face severe financial consequences.
Additionally, her false police report could qualify as malicious prosecution, particularly if the investigation is dismissed due to lack of evidence.
Mancari’s FBI Claims and Connections to Regina Ward Raise More Questions
Beyond her allegations against Miller, Mancari has also made questionable claims about her supposed access to federal investigations.
In a recent statement, she revealed that Regina Ward, a Myrtle Beach attorney, attempted to recruit her to gather intelligence against Miller—supposedly for the FBI.
According to Mancari:
“She kept saying it was for the purpose of giving it to the FBI. And I’m like, well, if they need this stuff or they’re asking for this stuff, I would never not comply with an officer. But I feel like they would be asking me themselves.”
Mancari then described Ward’s bizarre claim that she personally filters information for FBI agents:
“She got very offended and was like, ‘I know all five agents, they talk to me, and they trust me, and I look at every piece of information, I filter through what they should see.’ And I’m like, that’s not how it’s supposed to work.”
These statements undermine Mancari’s credibility even further. LISTEN TO MANCARI’S STATEMENT ABOUT REGINA WARD HERE – Source TikTok
- If she knew Ward was fabricating connections to the FBI, why did she align herself with her?
- If Mancari doubted the legitimacy of Ward’s tactics, why did she later file a police report using similarly misleading claims?
Such inconsistencies raise doubts about Mancari’s motivations and reliability as a witness in any legal proceedings against Miller.
Also, if what Melissa Mancari is saying about Myrtle Beach attorney Regina Ward is true, then Ward could be facing serious legal consequences at both the state and federal levels. Mancari claims that Ward attempted to recruit her to gather intelligence against John Paul Miller, supposedly for the FBI, but also alleged that Ward stated she personally “filters” what the FBI sees. If Ward falsely claimed to be working with the FBI and attempted to manipulate evidence or witness testimony, she could be in violation of federal obstruction of justice laws (18 U.S.C. § 1503), which prohibits interfering with an official investigation.
Additionally, if she falsely presented herself as an intermediary for law enforcement to influence Mancari’s statements, she could be charged with false impersonation of a federal officer (18 U.S.C. § 912), a felony carrying up to three years in prison. Another major legal issue is witness tampering (18 U.S.C. § 1512), as any attempt to influence or coerce a witness’s testimony—whether by lying about FBI involvement or misleading them into providing false statements—could result in up to 20 years in federal prison.
If Ward and others coordinated an effort to push a false narrative against Miller, she could also face conspiracy to commit fraud (18 U.S.C. § 371), which punishes individuals for colluding to spread false information or obstruct justice, even if the crime was never completed. Beyond federal charges, Ward could face state-level consequences in South Carolina for unauthorized practice of law (SC Code § 40-5-310) if she falsely implied that she had authority in federal investigations, as attorneys do not have prosecutorial or law enforcement powers.
Additionally, if these allegations are true, Ward could face severe disciplinary action from the South Carolina Bar Association, including potential disbarment for unethical conduct, particularly misrepresenting legal authority, interfering in investigations, and misleading witnesses. If Ward did, in fact, attempt to push false claims against Miller, she could also face civil lawsuits for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and tortious interference. Ultimately, if Mancari’s claims about Regina Ward are accurate, then Ward could be criminally investigated, disbarred, and sued for damages—raising significant questions about her role in the broader controversy surrounding John Paul Miller and Mica Miller’s death.
Did Mancari Weaponize the Justice System?
The pattern of false accusations, misleading police reports, and shifting narratives suggests a larger agenda at play.
1️⃣ It’s alleged that she knowingly misrepresented her communication with Miller in her police report.
2️⃣ Did she participate in Regina Ward’s efforts to gather intel against Miller under the guise of “helping the FBI.”
3️⃣ She contradicted her own claims by repeatedly emailing Miller, proving there was no harassment or “unwanted” contact.
With such glaring contradictions, the question now becomes: Was Mancari’s goal to legally damage Miller rather than seek justice?

Potential Legal Consequences for Mancari
Given the evidence, Miller’s legal team has multiple avenues to possibly hold Mancari accountable:
✅ Defamation lawsuit – for falsely accusing Miller of crimes on public platforms.
✅ Malicious prosecution claim – if her false police report leads to an unwarranted legal battle.
✅ Criminal complaint under S.C. § 16-17-722 – for knowingly filing a false police report.
Should the Myrtle Beach Police Department determine that Mancari’s police report was knowingly false, she could face criminal penalties herself.
Conclusion: A Manufactured Scandal?
The deeper this case is examined, the more it appears that JP Miller is being targeted —not of witness tampering accusations, but of a calculated attempt to destroy his reputation. From my visit to Myrtle Beach last week to investigate this case, I have seen a lot of hate. Protesters in the name of Mica Miller, attacking church goers. Some associated with the Justice for Mica movement seem believe anything certain social media people put out there as “fact,” as long as it makes JP Miller look bad, and make his church followers stop going to him.
I write this, not as a JP Miller fan or anti or pro protester. I write this looking from the outside looking in at the evidence. The evidence I have seen so far from this report does not help the Justice for Mica movement whatsoever. In fact, it hurts the legacy that they are trying to preserve for Mica Miller. Same goes for podcasters and any social media stars looking for clicks because the name JP Miller is in it. Do your research and present the facts, not as you see them, but as they are.
Here’s just one example of a podcaster telling lies as the truth, in legal terms they call this, “Defamation.”

BREAKING NEWS IN MYRTLE BEACH CASE:
Text messages sent from JP Miller and TikTok user TrueCrimeRI to Melissa Mancari, the former paralegal JP filed a $6M defamation complaint against…The messages seem to show TrueCrimeRI and JP trying to CONVINCE Melissa to testify AGAINST the protesters, offering to drop the $6M case against her if she did. Melissa—who did NOT witness any of the interactions JP says he had with the protesters—turned the texts/emails over to the Judge. THIS IS DISTURBING STUFF! And seems to suggest that JP doesn’t have any actual witnesses to what he claims the protesters “did to him.” It’s also VERY TELLING of how this man operates. MORE TO COME.
This is purportedly text messages between JP and TrueCrimeRI, who allegedly approached Melissa to offer her a deal: If she testifies against the protesters, JP will drop his case against her. Melissa never witnessed any bad behavior from protesters, which JP and RI allegedly knew…

So this podcaster says this about this email, “THIS IS DISTURBING STUFF!” What is so disturbing about asking someone to just tell the truth?
With contradictory statements, possible perjury, and false police reports, Mancari’s claims appear increasingly unreliable—raising the question: Was this all an orchestrated effort to take Miller down?
As new information continues to emerge, CC News Network will remain on top of the story, ensuring that the real facts—not politically motivated smears—are brought to light.
