MyAngel Walker: Investigation Leads to Arrests in her Tragic Death
Laurens, SC – The close-knit community of Laurens, South Carolina, is mourning the loss of 18-year-old MyAngel Walker, whose disappearance has tragically turned into a homicide investigation. Walker, a recent high school graduate with dreams of becoming a nurse, was reported missing by her family on December 12, 2024. Less than 48 hours later, law enforcement announced the arrest of two individuals in connection with her death.
This is the same county and city that Kaden Moses was murdered in last December.
Timeline of Events
Walker, an employee at NHC Healthcare in Clinton, was last seen on Thursday, December 12. Her absence from work, described by coworkers as highly uncharacteristic, raised immediate concerns. Her family reported her missing to the Laurens Police Department, which quickly determined her disappearance was suspicious.
The investigation, initially led by Laurens and Clinton police, expanded into Newberry and Greenwood counties with the assistance of multiple agencies, including the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). Tragically, Walker’s body was discovered in a vehicle near McKenzie Road in Greenwood County.
Arrests Made
On December 13, authorities announced the arrest of Malachi Pressley, 19, who has been charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. Additionally, Taylor Kinard, also 19, was charged as an Accessory After the Fact for allegedly aiding Pressley following the crime.
Both suspects are being held at the Johnson Detention Center and are scheduled for bond hearings on Saturday, December 14, at 9:00 AM.
Ongoing Investigation
Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive or the specific connection between the suspects and Walker. Clinton Police Chief Michael Addison confirmed that Kinard “had knowledge of it and she helped,” but further details remain under investigation.
The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is assisting local law enforcement as officers continue to conduct interviews and gather evidence. Walker’s cause of death has not yet been released.
