SC Pecan Music & Food Festival: A Time-Honored Celebration in Florence
Florence, SC — Since its inception in 2003, the SC Pecan Festival has brought the community of Florence, South Carolina, together to celebrate one of the state’s most beloved nuts: the pecan. Launched as a small gathering for family fun and local fellowship, the festival has grown into a massive annual event, drawing thousands to Downtown Florence on the first Saturday of November each year.
In 2011, the festival earned the official title of South Carolina State Pecan Festival through Act No. 9, cementing its place as a landmark event in South Carolina. Over the years, it has garnered multiple “Best of the Pee Dee” awards for excellence and was even recognized by Travel + Leisure as South Carolina’s best fall festival in 2017.
This year, the rebranded SC Pecan Music & Food Festival promises an unforgettable experience with free admission, nine stages of live entertainment, and activities spread across seven blocks in Historic Downtown Florence. Highlights include over 250 local vendors, culinary competitions, a classic car show, and the popular Run Like a Nut races featuring a 5K, 10K, and USATF-certified half marathon. Visitors can also “Bike Like a Nut” with organized half-century and century bike rides.

Each year, a volunteer committee spends over 1,000 hours planning the event, driven by the mission of bringing people together to “GO NUTS” for Florence’s favorite celebration.
The festival has rebranded to emphasize not only pecans but also music, food, and community spirit. From its humble beginnings to its current role as one of South Carolina’s most cherished events, the SC Pecan Music & Food Festival continues to be a testament to the vibrant community of Florence.
