CC News Poll Predicts Major Shakeups Ahead of South Carolina Republican Primaries
By James Seidel | CC News Network
COLUMBIA, S.C. — After thousands of votes cast across multiple CC News Network political polls, a clearer picture may be emerging about what Republican voters want heading into South Carolina’s statewide primaries Tuesday. South Carolina voters head to the polls June 9 with competitive races for governor, attorney general, and U.S. Senate — and CC News polling suggests some surprising outcomes may be coming.
Combined, CC News polls generated over 16,000 votes across the three statewide races, offering one of the largest independent reader-driven snapshots of Republican voter sentiment currently available.
The biggest takeaway?
Several establishment names appear vulnerable.
Governor Race: Rom Reddy and Nancy Mace Appear Locked In Battle
The governor poll generated almost 13,000 votes in total.
Current results:
- Rom Reddy: (35.34%)
- Nancy Mace: (34.77%)
- Ralph Norman: (12.07%)
- Alan Wilson: (8.91%)
- Pamela Evette: (6.03%)
- Undecided: (2.58%)
- Josh Kimbrell: 1 vote
While earlier CC News polling showed Nancy Mace dominating the field, the newest numbers suggest the race tightened dramatically, with Rom Reddy now narrowly leading by only two votes.
The bigger story may be what happens beneath the surface.
Combined, Mace and Reddy captured over 70% of all responses, while long-time statewide figures including Wilson, Evette, and Norman remained far behind.
Prediction:
Likely runoff: Rom Reddy vs Nancy Mace
Neither candidate appears positioned to clear South Carolina’s majority requirement needed to avoid a runoff. South Carolina requires candidates to receive more than 50% to avoid advancing.
The question now becomes whether anti-Mace or anti-Reddy voters consolidate.

Attorney General Race: David Pascoe Still Dominating
The attorney general poll generated 226 votes.
Results:
- David Pascoe: (51.33%)
- Stephen Goldfinch: (22.12%)
- David Stumbo: (19.91%)
- Undecided: (6.61)
Unlike the governor race, this contest produced the clearest result.
Pascoe not only leads.
He currently sits above the 50% threshold.
That matters because Attorney General becomes an open seat after Alan Wilson entered the governor race.
Prediction:
David Pascoe wins outright
Unless undecided voters break heavily toward Goldfinch or Stumbo, Pascoe appears positioned to avoid a runoff altogether.

U.S. Senate: Lindsey Graham Problem Emerging?
The Senate poll generated 162 votes.
Results:
- Mark Lynch: (53.7%)
- Lindsey Graham: (20.37%)
- Undecided: (11.66%)
These numbers may be the most surprising.
Mark Lynch received more than double Graham’s support in both CC News pollings.
No statewide incumbent wants to see an opponent polling above 50%.
Prediction:
Lynch wins
While CC News polling suggests enormous dissatisfaction among readers with Graham, incumbency advantages remain powerful.
Still, if these numbers reflect broader Republican frustration, Graham may face a far more competitive race than many expected.

What The Combined Numbers Say
Across all three races:
16,000+ total votes cast
Largest vote-getters:
- Rom Reddy / Nancy Mace battle for Governor
- David Pascoe dominates AG race
- Mark Lynch posts strongest overall performance against an incumbent
The emerging theme is simple:
Republican voters appear increasingly willing to challenge established names.
Whether these results translate to actual turnout will be answered Tuesday when South Carolina voters head to the polls statewide. Primary elections are scheduled for June 9, with runoffs later this month if no candidate secures a majority.
Based on these numbers, it’s looking like the race for South Carolina governor may be the only runoff between Mace and Reddy. David Pascoe will be the next Attorney General, and Lindsey Graham will be defeated by Mark Lynch.
CC News Polling Methodology & Disclaimer
CC News Network polls are conducted using open participation polling available to readers and visitors through CrimeAndCask.com and affiliated CC News platforms.
These polls are intended to measure reader sentiment, engagement, enthusiasm, and audience preferences rather than function as scientific polling models.
Unlike traditional polling organizations, CC News polls:
• Do not use random sampling methods
• Do not weight responses by geography, demographics, age, or voter history
• Do not attempt to create statistically representative samples of the South Carolina electorate
• Are open participation polls that allow voluntary voter engagement
Because participation is voluntary, results may reflect audience composition, candidate enthusiasm, online engagement, campaign mobilization efforts, and reader interest rather than actual election outcomes.
Poll results published by CC News should therefore be viewed as:
A snapshot of reader sentiment — not a scientific prediction of election results.
CC News publishes polling data for informational, journalistic, and audience engagement purposes only.
