The Community Tap Announces the Inaugural Travelers Rest Beer & Cider Festival
The Community Tap is thrilled to launch the first-ever Travelers Rest Beer & Cider Festival, set for Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Trailblazer Park in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Known for curating unique beer festivals, The Tap has hosted everything from large-scale events like the Rare Beer Festival to more intimate gatherings like the Very Independent Beer Event (V.I.B.E.) at its N. Main Greenville location.
This new festival brings the best of both worlds—a carefully curated selection of rare, seasonal, and year-round beers and ciders with limited tickets to ensure minimal lines and maximum enjoyment for all attendees. With over 20 taps, multiple wines by the glass, and a range of non-alcoholic options, The Tap aims to make this festival a standout for every kind of beverage enthusiast.

Please Note:
The Tap’s roots go back to 2009, when Mike Okupinski founded the concept as a cozy bottle shop and growler bar in the N. Main neighborhood near Stone Avenue. Joined by Ed Buffington, who introduced the idea of a curated wine selection, they opened The Community Tap on July 1, 2010, to a welcoming crowd. With support from the community, The Tap relocated and expanded in 2014, adding a bar with 20+ beer taps, wine by the glass, kombucha, and specialty non-alcoholic drinks, as well as an event space and a spacious deck seating 60. The Community Tap now offers nightly food trucks, select snacks, BYOF (bring your own food) options, and regular wine and beer tastings.
Beyond its extensive selection, The Tap focuses on fostering community connections. Patrons can expect curated offerings like the iconic Pilsner Urquell, Nightcap Dark Ale, Blackberry Cider, and Mean Old Tom Stout, each bringing unique flavors to the Greenville scene.
